Abbi McClure

Abbi McClure is an emerging Australian-based artist whose work beautifully captures the essence of Australia’s unique wildlife and natural landscapes. Originally from the UK, Abbi relocated to Wollongong with her family just before the pandemic, bringing a fresh perspective to her art as she immersed herself in the vibrant Australian environment.

Abbi's artistic journey began with the simple desire to create nursery art for her first daughter, Mya. Encouraged by her grandmother, a talented artist in her own right, Abbi's creativity blossomed. What started as a small project soon turned into a thriving business as friends commissioned her work and she began selling prints online. Today, her art is a testament to both her technical skill and her deep connection to nature.

Specialising in botanical art, realism, and whimsical children’s illustrations, Abbi only uses Caran D'Ache pastel pencils to create detailed and expressive pieces. Her work often features Australia’s extraordinary flora and fauna, aiming to inspire young minds to connect with and cherish the natural world around them.

Living in Australia has profoundly influenced Abbi’s work. The country’s distinctive wildlife, from vibrant birds to quirky marsupials, alongside its stunning landscapes, provides an endless source of inspiration. Through her art, she hopes to ignite a sense of adventure, imagination, and environmental curiosity in children—while celebrating the beauty and diversity of Australian nature.
