Djilba

Aboriginal Noongar Season Art Poster

This product includes a museum-quality poster made of thick matte paper. No frame is included.

This art poster by Joshua Kyle is part of the Noongar seasons, a collection celebrating the special connection the Aboriginal people of the south west of Australia have with the land. The Noongar people recognise six distinct seasons within the year, each coinciding with a change in the native flora and fauna.

Djilba arrives between August and September and brings with it transition, as the winter begins to end. Represented by the colour pink, this season symbolises the growth of wildflowers. During this season, the south west region explodes into colour as the Acacia, or Golden Wattle, begins to flower.
